Pork producers are concerned about more than just raising their pigs. Federal farm policy, immigration, product labeling and funding for agricultural programs are among the issues that affect the ability of producers to provide safe, nutritious pork to domestic and foreign markets; to provide nearly 35,000 full-time equivalent jobs and 515,000 indirect jobs; and to generate $34.5 billion of gross national product to the U.S. economy. NPPC works with executive branch officials and federal lawmakers for reasonable legislation and regulation.
