Jim Heimerl is a pork producer from Johnstown, Ohio, and is serving his first year on the NPPC board of directors. He and his wife Kathy, along with three sons and daughter-in-law, run three farrow-to-finish farms in Ohio and 80 contract finishing farms in several states. Crops and cattle, along with a trucking division and feed mill, round out the business conducted at Heimerl Farms LTD.
Jim serves as co-chair for the competitive markets policy committee and is a member of the feed availability task force for NPPC. He is president of the Ohio Pork Producers Council and is a board member of the Ohio Soybean Association. He enjoys giving back to the community by serving on the Hartford Independent Fair board and was recently inducted into the Licking County Agricultural Hall of Fame.
A past National Environmental Award winner, Jim is proactive in promoting agriculture and educating non-farm folks about how farmers feed the world in a safe, nutritious way.
He is a member of the Central College Presbyterian church and enjoys spending time with his five grandchildren.
