Dr. Jennifer Greiner
Director of Science and Technology
As the
director of science and technology at the National Pork
Producers Council, Dr. Greiner’s primary responsibility is
to develop and implement all policies and programs related
to a broad array of science and technology issues facing
U.S. pork producers. She provides scientific and technical
guidance to the NPPC lobbying team as well as the Chief
Executive Officer, Board of Directors and any other industry
audiences. She also works closely with the International
Trade Council to provide scientific and technical support on
international trade matters.
Prior to
joining NPPC, Dr. Greiner worked for Wolcott Veterinary
Clinic/Indiana Animal Health, a swine-exclusive veterinary
clinic. She then moved to Creekside Animal Hospital where
she was performed routine health exams and diagnostics for
companion animals. In April of 2005, Dr. Greiner began
working
as
director of cattle health and ID programs
for the Indiana State Board of Animal Health. She lead the
implementation of Indiana’s premises identification rule and
ensured Indiana’s compliance with the federal regulatory
programs for bovine Brucellosis and tuberculosis. Most
recently, Dr. Greiner was corporate affairs associate with
Elanco Animal Health where she was involved in corporate
government relations and public affairs.
Dr.
Greiner graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor
of Animal Science and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.
She is a member of several associations, including the
American Association of Swine Veterinarians and the United
States Animal Health Association. Dr. Greiner is an Iowa
native who grew up on a livestock and grain farm and is a
tremendous asset to NPPC.
