Kirk C. Ferrell

As Vice
President of Public Policy for the National Pork Producers
Council (NPPC), Kirk Ferrell leads the pork industry's
government relations team in Washington, D.C. He is
responsible for the day-to-day development, presentation and
implementation of the pork industry's legislative,
regulatory and political agenda before Congress and Federal
agencies. Ferrell is a respected voice and recognized leader
of the U.S. pork industry.
Ferrell
brought 10 years legislative and political experience to
NPPC when he joined the organization in 1989. Ferrell served
as confidential assistant to the Deputy Secretary of the
United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Prior to
his USDA service, Ferrell worked for both U.S. Senator
Charles Grassley (R-IA) and former U.S. Senator Roger Jepsen
(R-IA). Early in his career, Ferrell was a livestock market
analyst for the Iowa Department of Agriculture.
An Iowa
native, Ferrell attended Ellsworth Community College in Iowa
Falls, Iowa, and Grace Bible College in Omaha, NB. He
now resides in Arlington, VA, with his wife, Barbara, and
their two children.
