Meryem
Merritt is the Administrative Assistant for the National Pork
Producers Council (NPPC). Merritt's responsibilities include
providing support for the Vice President of State Relations
and Resource Development and the NPPC Strategic Investment
Program.
Although she was born in Guam, Merritt has spent most of her life in
Des Moines, Iowa. Her interest in agriculture began when she
visited her uncle's farm during family vacations. In addition,
she has spent several years raising quarter horses and cattle
in the Iowa countryside.
In addition
to her duties at NPPC, Merritt also enjoys kayaking, horseback
riding, fishing and hunting.
