World Class Pork is the standard that the U.S. pork industry must attain to be truly competitive in the global marketplace. Everyone involved in the pork chain, including producers, packers, processors, retailers, foodservice personnel, veterinarians and product input suppliers, must work toward common objectives to efficiently meet consumer wants and needs.
To achieve World Class Pork, all members of the pork chain must work together in the following critical areas:
- Networking and building of new alliances Relationships will be built throughout the pork chain to help the entire industry succeed.
- Environmental research Efforts in this area will be expanded to provide the technical answers to issues impacting our industry and the environment.
- Trade The industry will work at establishing an "American Pork" brand identity.
- Pork Quality Special emphasis will be placed on the interaction of factors that define quality
